#8 Postcard Trivia 1.2.18
I picked up this postcard while on a trip to New Orleans in 2012. This photo by Grant L. Robertson highlights the rich, creamy color of the magnolia blossom. The magnolia was designated as the state flower of Louisiana in 1900. There are several varieties of magnolia tree. This bloom is from the magnolia grandiflora - the classic magnolia that flourishes all over the south. It grows to be quite large and its thick foliage and fragrant blooms add character and beauty to a variety of landscapes. The magnolia is so beautiful, in fact, that Louisiana is not the only state to select it as the state flower.
The magnolia is also the state flower of which one of these states?
A. Mississippi B. Alabama C. Virginia
