The National Museum of the Pacific War newly reopened in 2009. This museum is a fascinating tribute to the heroes of the WWII battles of the Pacific. It highlights the achievements of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, the Commander in Chief of Pacific Ocean Areas. The museum is located in Nimitz’s boyhood hometown where his family owned a hotel. The hotel is now part of the national museum.
