Old Town Village Antiques - An adventure in Waxahachie
If you get a chance to visit Waxahachie, Texas, don't miss Old Town Village Antiques & Uniques. This three-story building on the square started out as a JC Penney Store in 1898. Today, it hosts 60 antique dealers and an endless variety of collectibles, furniture, jewelry, books and more. And, of course, I found postcards! The shopkeeper knew right where to look to find those little baskets and racks of postcards that are sprinkled throughout the booths. I enjoyed visiting with her about the history of the building and the dealers. My search through the stacks was rewarded. I found a 1905 postcard made of leather (see below) and some unique holiday postcards. Shopping at Old Town Village was a great experience. The owner has done a wonderful job creating a shopping village that is organized, updated, and easy to enjoy. I look forward to more treasure hunting in Waxahachie!
